Dow 2019 EHS & Sustainability Campus Hire

Job Location: Shanghai


The Dow Chemical Company has a Campus Hire opening for an EHS & Sustainability (EHS&S) Development Program (EHSSDP) Trainee located in Shanghai. The EHSSDP is a rotational program for entry-level professionals, designed to offer Trainees the opportunity to apply product safety skills in various functional areas. In addition, Trainees receive performance coaching, technical skill enhancement, and leadership development from experienced professionals and leaders. Upon completion of the development program, trainees may shift to full-time roles depending on his/her performance during rotation and the company’s needs.

During this one to two-year rotational program, the EHSSDP Trainee will be put on a few rotations, with each rotation (at discretion of the company) to be within the following functional areas:

  • Business Product Stewardship
  • Product Regulatory Service
  • Hazard Communication
  • Toxicology and Environment Research Consultation (or Sustainability)

During each Rotation, the trainee will perform responsibilities equivalent to a full-time professional staff for the functional area. Additionally, the trainee is encouraged to participate in and lead functional and/or cross-functional projects.

The trainee will be based in Shanghai and potentially go on a short term International relocation assignment to an overseas Dow location for the Rotation.

Candidate Qualifications:

We are looking for 2019 graduates with bachelor’s or higher degree, from a recognized university, in chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology, industrial hygiene, a specialized EH&S discipline or other related majors.

The candidates Dow seeks are mobile-minded strategic thinkers and tactical implementers with a demonstrated outstanding work ethic and strong problem solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. You must possess excellent leadership characteristics, high initiative and quick learning skills. An international perspective is required, and ability to work in a global team environment is critical.
