Dow Certified as China's Top Employer for Eighth Consecutive Year
Dow China was certified as one of “China’s Top Employers” for the eighth consecutive year by the Top Employers Institute. The certification recognizes Dow’s success in meeting the highest standards in human resource policies, practices and employee offerings. Dow is one of just six firms in China to be honored for eight years running.
Lim Yoke Loon, president of Dow China, said: “Investing in Dow talent is a top priority and we are pleased to be recognized for our outstanding efforts in China. Dow’s employees play a key role in our regional growth strategy – both as the catalyst behind Dow’s geographic and business expansion, and as the beneficiaries of the career opportunities that are created by our success.”
In the past two years, Dow tapped into China’s vast inland areas to open new offices in Chengdu, Harbin, Wuhan and Urumqi. This provides further forefronts for employees to sharpen their career skills and professionalism. Dow China investments in talent have included programs such as: Fighter Academy, Greater China Leadership Forum and Leadership Community, Leadership Boot Camp and Hall of Fame. Dow China employees are also actively engaged in volunteer activities in the themes of science education, sustainability and community success. Since 2007, Dow China volunteers have contributed more than 54,000 service hours.
The Top Employers certification is awarded to organizations that achieve the highest standards of excellence as verified by a comprehensive review. The certification process includes an analysis of the human resources environment, validation of research and external audit. Performance scores are rated against an international standard. Headquartered in the Netherlands and previously known as the CRF Institute, the Top Employers Institute has recognized Top Employers around the world since 1991 and uses a proprietary methodology to maintain certification objectivity, independence and selectivity.
